   CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the print cartridge, minimize its exposure to direct light. Cover the print cartridge with a sheet of paper.
Follow these steps to make sure the new print cartridge is ready to install into the product.
  1. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging. Gently rock the print cartridge from front to back to distribute the toner evenly.
       CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the print cartridge, hold the print cartridge at each end.
  2. Pull the tab and remove all the tape from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling.

Step two: Open the product

  1. Make sure you have turned the product on. Press the Power button if it is not lit.
  2. Open the print cartridge access door, and then wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  3. Remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box.
    NOTE:
If you cannot remove or install the cartridges even though the power is on, check the product control-panel display for error messages. If none appear, turn off the power and then turn it back on.

Step three: Replace the old print cartridge

  1. Insert the new print cartridge in the product. Make sure the print cartridge is in position.
  2. Close the print cartridge door.
   CAUTION:
If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash the clothing in cold water. Hot water sets toner into the fabric.
